Travis Richins has over a decade of experience in complex commercial and patent litigation, currently practicing from Richmond, Virginia. His legal career began after earning his JD from Southern Methodist University in Texas, leading him to a position at an Am Law 100 firm. There, he defended Fortune 500 companies in the financial services sector. He also represented clients in high stakes oil and gas disputes and in bankruptcy adversary proceedings. He later joined a boutique patent litigation firm and has since represented both plaintiffs and defendants in hundreds of patent cases.

Travis is licensed in Texas and Virginia. He recently teamed up with a local immigration firm, where he spearheaded a civil rights case in Henrico County, Virginia. There, he helped obtain a favorable settlement for his client and a policy change that will prevent Henrico County Jails from detaining immigrants solely on ICE detainers.

Before his legal career, Travis studied violin performance at the University of Utah, a passion he continues to nurture through performances and teaching. This blend of music and law has given Travis a unique perspective and balance in his professional and personal life.

Travis shares his life in Richmond with his wife, Chandra, and their five children. Beyond law and music, he is actively involved in his church and enjoys cooking, hiking, and biking.
